The Lok Sabha Privilege Committee has issued notices to Telangana CS Somesh Kumar and the Chief Secretary of the Home Department regarding the incident of Bandi Sanjay ‘Jagrana Deeksha’. Committee sent notices in the wake of the Bandi’s complaint. Made it clear that he must appear before them on February 3rd.
In addition to this, the committee also issued notices to the DGP, Karimnagar Police Commissioner, ACP, Jagittala DSP, and Karimnagar Inspector to comment on the incident. Bandi, who has already appeared before the committee, gave his testimony. Explained everything that happened that day.
Bandi Sanjay sat for a vigil on January 2 for job seekers and teachers to save lives from the 317 G.O. He was undergoing initiation at his office in Karimnagar where he was arrested by the police. Tensions were high at the time. The gas cutters were used to breach the gates and water cannons were used by the police officials to take control of Bandi Sanjay.
The Lok Sabha Privilege Committee stepped in after Bandi Sanjay complained that his rights as a Member of Parliament had been violated. They issued notices to the concerned authorities on the incident.
