Intensifying the legal battle against the South-Indian star director Shankar, Lyca Productions, the makers of Kamal Hassan’s ‘Indian-2’ who already has filed a case against director Shankar has against approached the Madras High Court on Thursday.
Seeking a ban on him to direct any other film before the completion of ‘Indian 2’, the production house in its petition against Shankar that they have already spent Rs 180 crores out of the total Rs 230 crores planned. It can be noted that the project with Ram Charan is on the line which would be stalled in the line of the plea filed by Lyca.
However, the director heaved a sigh of relief with has ruled that the director cannot be barred from doing so. Justice PT Asha refused to grant an interim injunction restraining director Shankar from directing the other movies in the meantime. A notice has been sent to the director, for which a response has to be submitted by April 15.
