Actor Prakash Raj, who was defeated in the hands of Manchu Vishnu for the MAA presidency has made a sensational decision hours after the results were rolled out. Announcing his resignation from MAA membership, Prakash Raj decided to end his 21-year affiliation with Movie Artists Association(MAA).
Clarified that the decision was not in a haste or out of humiliation, Prakash Raj said that he is welcoming the choice of MAA members to have a Telugu president. “MAA elections this time took place between regionalism and nationalism. Neither my parent nor I am Telugu and is no one’s fault. I come as a guest to the industry and I hereby chose to stay as a guest,” he said.
Prakash Raj who rose to fame as one of the well-respected character artist further stated that his self-esteem is refusing to stand between local and non-local agendas. Welcoming the victory of Manchu Vishnu, Prakash Raj recollected the claims made by the winning panel that they would bring new rules so that only locals can contest for the presidency.
