The makers of most-awaited ‘Darbar’ heaved a sigh of relief as the Madra’s High court on Tuesday cleared the hurdles for the worldwide release. However, the HC barred the release in Malaysia, where Rajini has a whooping fan following. Owing to the financial dispute raised between DMY Creations, a Malaysia based entertainment company who claimed to issue a loan to the tune of Rs 12 crore at a rate of 30% p.a. to Lyca, HC ordered an interim injunction against Malaysian release.

Justice G Jeyachandran stated that film can be released in Malaysia also, given the makers provide a bank guarantee to the tune of Rs 4.90 crore at the Madras High Court. The judge further heard the arguments of the two parties and reserved his verdict without announcing a date. Helmed by star director AR Murugadoss, ’Darbar’, starring Rajinikanth and Nayanthara as main leads is all set for its release January 9.
