The political crisis in Madhya Pradesh reached to Bengaluru with the senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh reached the city along with other party leaders and sat on a dharna outside Ramada hotel in Bengaluru. The former Chief Minister of Madya Pradesh reportedly reached to the city in the early hours who directly started off to the hotel where the 22 Congress MLAs are staying.
President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) and former Karnataka minister DK Shivakumar also accompanied Digvijay. Tension rose high in Yelahanka as the Congress leader was denied permission to sit on a dharna. Followed by which Singh was placed under preventive arrest.
“My 22 MLAs have been held captive here in Bangalore. I have been in touch with their families. I came to know that the MLAs want to talk to me. Their phones have been snatched. Let me allow to meet them,” said Digvijay talking to the media before being taken to Amruthahalli Police Station. Heavy security has been deployed in and around the resort in the city’s northern suburb.
