Director Bharathiraja blockbuster ’Sigappu Rojakkal’ which was dubbed into Telugu as ‘Erra Gulabilu’ needs no intro while Kamal Hassan and Sreedevi’s performances stood as the benchmark for many psychological thrillers.
Now, the latest news reports state the Bharatiraja’s son and hero Manoj is planning to helm a sequel to ‘Erra Gulabilu’. Rumour mongers are rife with news that the film would feature the southern India ‘Mahanati’ Keerthy Suresh in the lead.
While everyone anticipated that Keerthy would reprise Sreedevi’s character who bursts the psychopath’s series of atrocious murders, it was learnt that Manoj gave a new, interesting touch to Keerthy’s tole.
Sources close to Manoj have it that, Keerthy would essay the role of Kamal Hassan’s female version who would prey on the men who cheated on women. While there is no official word out yet about the possible sequel, the news has generated a lot of interest in the fans and followers of Bharathiraja and ‘Mahanati’ actress.
