This year’s Forbes India Celebrity 100 List set new milestones ever since its launch in 2011. Pushing down the Khan stars, Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli topped the list with a net pay of ₹252.72 crores between October 1, 2018, and September 30, 2019. Salman who topped the list in previous year slipped down to the third position after Akshay Kumar.
In the list released by the leading magazine on Thursday, improved representation from the South Indian film industry was seen this time. Like never before, 13 South-Indian stars made it to the list with the cumulative earnings increasing to 12.57 per cent. Thalaiva Rajinikanth donned the South-Indian list with 13th place while Kamal Hassan stood at 56th spot. As Mollywood Superstar Mohanlal took the 27th spot, Rebel Star Prabhas who emerged into PAN-India hot favourite with ‘Baahubali’ ranked 44th in the list. Thalapathy Vijay and Ajith toppled Superstar Mahesh Babu by clinching 47th and 52nd rank respectively. For the first time, a filmmaker from the Tollywood industry got a place in the Forbes list. Director Trivikram debuted in the Forbes list at 77th place with total earnings of Rs 21.5 crore.
