Amaravati farmers who have been holding protests against the Jagan-led government over the three-capital proposal, on Monday reached to the Managalagiri police station. While the media and locals speculated that things would turn violent between police and farmers with the protests, the group of farmers shocked everyone with their compliant. A section of local farmers who had been taking active part on the Amaravati protests from the past six days lodged a missing case on the local YSRCP MLA RK Ramakrishna Reddy at the Mangalagiri police station. Appealing the police officials to track where their MLA is, the farmers stated that he went missing after the controversial announcement of Chief Minister over the three capitals.
While over 29 villages in and around the capital region are ablaze with the agitations, Alla Rama Krishna Reddy, the MLA from Mangalagiri, one of the crucial town in the capital region was nowhere seen which welcomed criticism. Only a few of the YSRCP leader came to the media backing up the government’s move, as many of the leaders choose to stay off.
