AP government claims to Rs. 629 crores through reverse tendering
Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited(MEIL), apparently the only company that participated in the bid has acquired the contract. As the state government invited the reverse tender for Rs 4,987 crores, MEIL led by Megha Krishna Reddy grabbed the tender by quoting just Rs 4,358 crores, 12.6% lesser than the government tender value. The construction giant which has earlier taken up Pattiseema Raptors Scheme and Kaleswaram lift irrigation project will soon start the Polavaram works after getting clearance from the courts. The tender includes the construction of the Polavaram headworks, earth and rockfill dam and the hydroelectric project. With this, the Jagan’s government claims to have saved Rs. 628 crores, of course, drifting against the will of the Modi government.
