Humari Sulu, Vidya Balan finally opens up about her digital debut. This award-winning actress who was on a break from the big screen for the past two years hit back with ‘Mission Mangal’. Vidya doesn’t want to take up any new projects currently, reportedly to make space for her web series debut. She will be seen playing India’s former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the series that will be based on Sagarika Ghose’s book, Indira: India’s Most Powerful Prime Minister. ‘Lunchbox’ fame Ritesh Batra will be directing the series while Vidya herself wants to bankroll the project.
“It’s been around two years since I bought the rights to a book on Indira Gandhi, as I wanted to turn the story into a web series. But at that time, I didn’t realise a web series is a completely different format and involves a lot of work,” said Vidya Balan. The actress also said that the process is taking time, but she wants everything to be hassle-free.
