On the 6th of this month, the High Court will pronounce its verdict on the CBI investigation in the case of baiting of BRS MLAs, which has created a sensation across the state of Telangana. The bench will pronounce its verdict at 10:30 am on Monday. However, the state government appealed to the court challenging the judgment of the single judge. The High Court reserved its verdict after hearing lengthy arguments as part of the trial.
Earlier, the High Court had passed orders transferring the investigation of the MLA purchase case to the CBI. The High Court, after considering the petitions filed by the accused Ramachandra Bharti, Nandakumar, and Simhayaji, who had no faith in the investigation by the SIT set up by the state government, issued orders to this effect.
But on the other hand, the Advocate General told the court on behalf of the SIT that handing over the case to the CBI would not serve any purpose. He requested that an investigation be done with SIT as the case is currently in the investigation phase. The court, which did not consider the arguments of the Advocate General, ordered the SIT to hand over the details of the investigation conducted so far to the CBI.
