The trial of the BRS MLAs poaching case has been postponed. The Supreme Court adjourned the further hearing in this case to February 27. The state government has approached the Supreme Court challenging the Telangana High Court’s verdict handing over the purchase of MLAs case to the CBI.
The bench also heard the petition with Justice BR Gavai and Justice Manoj Mishra. On this occasion, Advocate Dushyant Dave made arguments on behalf of the Telangana government. The bench was asked to set aside the SIT investigation even though there are key allegations against the accused in the case.
“All the evidence, in this case, is against the BJP, then how can the investigation be handed over to the CBI,” he asked. The government counsel asked the court for more time for arguments as the case was listed at 9 pm on Thursday. On the other hand, the counsel for the defendants brought to the notice of the court that the key evidence in the case had been leaked.
Responding to this, Justice Gawai said that the evidence in the MLA purchase case was not sent to the media but to the judges. After the arguments of both sides, the hearing of the case was adjourned to February 27. But it is interesting to know how the verdict of the Supreme Court will turn this case around.
