MLC Kavitha gets Supreme Court’s shock!
MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha got a shock from Supreme Court. The court has rejected her plea for stay on ED’s notices in Delhi liquor scam. The court has adjourned the case to 24th March 2023 for next hearing. Kavitha is supposed to attend for investigation in the Delhi liquor scam case at the ED’s office on 16th March 2023. She found fault with the ED in asking her to come to their office for investigation as against the norms. In this context, she has approached the Supreme Court. Her plea has come for hearing at the Supreme Court.

Kavitha’s Advocate argued that issuing summons to his client to attend the investigation at the ED’s office was against law, as woman should not be called to the ED’s office for investigations. Her Advocate also told the court that his client was informed through the summons that the investigation would be conducted along with other accused. But that was not the case. Kavitha’s advocate also brought to the notice of the court that without giving any advance notice, the ED officials have seized the mobile phone of the MLC, Kavitha.
In view of the ED’s investigation and Kavitha, as per summons is supposed to attend the investigation, her advocate has asked for interim orders to be given on the ED’s investigation. The court has not responded to that plea. The CJI bench of the Supreme Court has agreed to hear plea of Kavitha on 24th March 2023.
