Eight days of his fight with death came to an end on Saturday. MMTS train loco pilot L Chandrasekhar who went through a number of surgeries including amputating his right limb finally succumbed in Nampally Care Hospital. Confirming the same, the hospital authorities released a statement that he suffered a cardiac arrest on Saturday evening, which led to his death.
After the MMTS train collided with Kurnool City-Secunderabad Hundry Intercity Express train at the Kacheguda railway station, Chandrashekhar, the loco pilot was trapped in the cabin and was taken out with eight hours of a rescue operation. While the railway officials blamed Chandrasekhar for skipping the red signal which led to the accident, the incident left 17 commuters injured.
