Seems like Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tweets didn’t pacify the agitations across the country over the Citizen Amendment Act. Followed by a series of incidents from Sunday, the central government has been cornered for taking charge on the students of Jamia Millia and Aligarh Muslim universities. Taking to the public rally in Jharkhand on Tuesday, Modi came down heavily on the Oppositions, Congress in specific. He alleged that Congress and its allies are spreading violence by creating a scary atmosphere for the Muslim community.
Modi then openly challenged the Congress leaders to publicly declare that they are prepared to accord Indian Citizenship to every Pakistani citizen. He then assured that CAA will not affect any citizen of the country. “We brought the Citizenship Amendment Act for the prosecuted minorities in neighbouring countries. I assure that no citizen of the country would be affected by the new law,” averred the BJP supremo. However, the efforts put in by Modi didn’t effect the protests still being reported across the country.
