A movie on the weekend has been the weekend stress buster for many middle-class families as everything came to halt with corona lockdown. While as many as 9,600 screens across the country remained shut taking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call on March 24th, distributors, producers and theatre owners are left helpless with unavoidable monthly maintenance expenditures.
However, a recent video conference held with the industry heads ended up with a positive note hinting over theatre opening anytime soon post the lockdown. It was learnt that the theatre owners are gearing up to conduct trial screenings. According to the new guidelines set by theatre owners unions, shows would start with half occupancy maintaining seat distancing.
The trial run is expected to continue for a week and the numbers would be shared with the producers. This report would also be submitted to the governments of Telugu states. If everything goes as per plan, the trails would start by the end of May while all the films halted due to lockdown are expected to hit the sets by July.
