Calling it an end to the suspense around the candidate’s name in the Nagarjunasagar by-election, ruling TRS on Monday announced the name of Nomula Bhagat, son of the late MLA Nomula Narsimhaiya. Making the speculations true, the TRS high command is likely to officially give the B-Form to the young politician this evening.
Going by the party sources, Narasimhaiah’s work and the goodwill he earned in the past two years is taken into consideration for narrowing down Bhagat’s name. The ruling TRS is banking on votes of the Other Backward Castes (OBCs) to achieve its target of winning and retaining the constituency. Nomula Bhagat belongs to Yadav community.
The bye-election for the constituency was necessitated with the sudden demise of ruling TRS party’s sitting MLA Nomula Narsimhaiah. The polling which is peculated to witness a huge political fight is scheduled to take place on April 17, and the last date for filing nominations is March 30.
