In a first maiden meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met with Indo-American US Vice President Kamala Harris in Washington DC on his official US visit. While the leaders talked over the phone in June amid the deadly COVID-19 wave in India, this will be the first in-person meeting between Harris and Modi.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, PM Modi stated that he is glad to meet Kamala Harris whose feat has inspired the entire world.

During the meeting, the two leaders decided to further cement the Indo-US strategic partnership and discussed global issues of common interest, including threats to democracy, Afghanistan, and the Indo-Pacific. In their meet, Kamala Harris ‘suo moto’ referred to Pakistan’s role in terrorism.
Harris mentioned that there were terror groups working in Pakistan and that she asked Islamabad to take action so the matter does not threaten the security of India and the United States. To note, Kamala Harris is the first woman, the first Black person, and the first Indian-American to become the Vice President of the United States.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met with leading American CEOs from five different key sectors. The PM reportedly held one-on-one meetings with CEOs of Qualcomm, Adobe, First Solar, General Atomics, and Blackstone to highlight the economic opportunities in India.
