Ordering a probe into the accusations made by the petitioner, Congress leader A Revanth Reddy, National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Friday sent a notice to KTR, Telangana Minister for IT. According to the petition filed, the illegal construction is a three-storey farmhouse spanning 1 lakh square feet was constructed after KT Rama Rao became a Minister in 2014.
The southern zone of the special body for environmental protection also constituted a special committee to probe into the legality of the ministers Janwala farmhouse which has been in the news from quite some time. The proposed committee will comprise officials of the Union ministry of forests and environment, TSPCB, HMDA, district collector while it would inspect the constructions that allegedly violate GO number 111.
Confirming the same, Sravan Kumar, Revanth Reddy’s advocate stated that the report is to include the action to be taken and environment compensation that is to be received by the state if the construction is found to be illegal.
It is to the known knowledge that Congress leader Revanth released aerial photographs of the luxury farmhouse that Rama Rao had built it with a swimming pool on 25 acres in the prohibited bio-conservation zone. A case was registered against him by Narsingi police under Section 188 of the IPC for alleged illegal use of a drone he had flown over the farmhouse. The Congress MP judicial custody for 14 days.
