Neelam Sawhney, the former Chief Secretary of CM Jagan has assumed the office as the new SEC on Thursday. Succeeding the previous State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar as his tenure came to the end on March 31st, Neelam Sawhney took charge today in the office of the Election Commission, Vijayawada.
With this, Neelam Sawhney set a new record as the first woman SEC in the newly formed Andhra Pradesh. On her first day, she thanked the Honourable Governor for handing over the SEC responsibilities with confidence on her own.
Further thanking the Government, the IAS officer stated that with the cooperation of the people she would work harder to ensure that the upcoming Parishad elections will be held hassle-free.
