Indicating the Chinese health care system over the different manifestation of the coronavirus, a new cluster of cases were seen in northern provinces of Jilin and Heilongjiang, which is now framed as the latest pandemic hotspot in the country. The cities which have 108 million people are now on the verge of Wuhan-type lockdown.
The Chinese government which is under the second wave tremors has shut down the public transport, public spaces and educational institutes in Chinese provinces with 120 new cases in the past 1 week while the virus showed new strong mutations. The health officials confirmed that the virus appears to stay for a longer period of time while the patients would take a long time to recover going by the negative nucleic acid tests.
“People should not assume the peak has passed or let down their guard,” Wu Anhua, a senior infectious disease doctor, said on state television on Tuesday. “It’s totally possible that the epidemic will last for a long time.”
On the other hand, researchers worldwide are trying to ascertain if the virus is mutating in a significant way to become more contagious as it races through the human population, but early research suggesting this possibility has been criticised for being overblown.
