No shooting from the past 6 months, strict lockdown across the nation and travel norms…forced not only the citizen but the travel buff celebs who tend to fly to their holiday destinations every now and then. Pretty much everyone spent the initial months of 2020 locked in indoors. But not after the government lifted travel restrictions as a part of Unlock 5.0.
Maldives, the 1,190 coral islands with lavish resorts and beach houses now turned the favourite destination for the celebs for a short vacation. In the last couple of weeks, a slew of celebrities was spotted in the islands who flooded the social media with their pictures by the pretty beaches.
And then popped up the question of why only the Maldives..?
While travelling to other nations need to pass more stringent COVID restrictions besides the 15 days quarantine, the Maldives falls under the transport bubble with India. As a part of which natives from these nations can travel to and from the countries for employment, tourism, medical emergencies, etc.

Quarantine upon reaching the Maldives is not required. Indian passport holders are granted a 30-day free visa upon arrival. Further, November to April is the perfect time to visit the island country as the average temperature there is between 29°C to 31°C during this period with picturesque beaches.

The islands follow the concept of “one-island-one-resort” under which travellers visiting the Maldives are confined to the resort they are staying in. This makes the experience safer, especially during the pandemic.

As Kajal Aggarwal and Gautam Kitchlu headed there for their honeymoon, many celebrities like Mehrene, Tapsee Pannu, Rakul Preet Singh, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya are spotted in the Maldives taking a ‘blue’ break.
