NHRC has become serious about the occupation of lands allocated by the previous Congress government for the differently-abled. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notices to the Chief Secretary of the state government in this regard.
Bakka Judson complained to the National Human Rights Commission that the TRS leaders along with several leaders of the ruling party including Palla Rajeshwar Reddy tried to steal the land allotted to the differently-abled by the then Congress government in Annojiguda of Medchal district. NHRC has taken this matter seriously.
In KL Mahender Nagar Colony under Pocharam Municipality of Medchal District, the then Congress Government allotted 5 acres of 21 pits for the construction of houses in Survey No. 14. The house was built on 3 acres in installments. However, the former chairman of Divyangula Corporation Bakka Judson alleged that the followers of Minister Mallareddy tried to sell the land by creating stolen papers with the survey numbers next to the remaining 2 acres and 21 pits.
However, Judson stated in the complaint that even though the differently-abled peoples’ associations complained to the collector several times about the encroachment of the land allocated by the government, justice was not done. Besides, he mentioned that it is because of the extreme pressure from Minister Mallareddy and MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy that the authorities are not responding to this matter by any chance. He demanded the immediate resignation of Minister Mallareddy who was responsible for this.
In the letter, Judson requested that a rehabilitation center for the differently-abled should be built in the encroached land in Annojiguda, and for that, instructions should be issued to the state government. Meanwhile, the National Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to the Chief Secretary of Telangana Government, Somesh Kumar, in response to the case of possession of land by the differently abled.
