Nipah virus crossed border from Kerala to Karnataka

Nipah virus has crossed borders from Kerala to Karnataka. Two cases of a suspected Nipah virus were reported from Mangaluru. One is 20-year-old woman and the other is 75-year –old man.
 

 
Symptoms of the virus were seen after they travelled to neighbouring state Kerala and had contact with infected patients said Rajesh BV, a Health official in Karnataka.
 
 
“They are not confirmed Nipah cases yet, so there is no need to panic,” he said.
 
He said that the situation is under control added that the blood samples of the two people have been sent for screening and results are awaited by Thursday.
