While the whole nation is waiting for the justice to be served to the parents of Nirbhaya, the 23-year-old medical student gang-raped and murdered, the convicts resorted to deadly tactics. With Pawan Gupta filing the mercy petition with President Ram Nath Kovind, the judge in Patiala Delhi Court on Monday stated that the execution which s scheduled to take place on March 3rd is postponed.
With the execution of the victims postponing yet again, the social media was seen filed with “Justice delayed is justice denied” posts. Reacting to the verdict passed, Nirbhaya’s mother Asha Devi who has been waging a battle for justice broke down in the court premises. Speaking to the media after the verdict, Asha Devi who darted out of the court hall stated that she is losing hope on the legal system.
“This shows the ineffectiveness of our system. Why is the court taking so much time to execute its own order to hang the convicts? Is the judicial system supporting convicts?” she lashed out. Meanwhile, the matter has been deferred until further orders.
