Telangana government on Monday was forced to imposed curfew in Bhainsa after clashes broke out between two groups in the communally sensitive colonies at about 9 pm on Sunday.
Known to be communally sensitive, two groups on Sunday were learnt to target place worship and property belonging to the minority community.
Both groups resorted to pelting stones at each other who torched vehicles parked on the streets. Followed by which, police imposed prohibitory orders and directed the people to remain indoors. Commercial establishments were instructed to keep shut while the police imposed a curfew.
DSP Narsinga Rao along with two inspectors and staff rushed to the area and dispersed the clashing groups. Police said the situation is Inder control and police are trying to identify the perpetrators. It is learnt that miscreants also set fire to some shops in the town Fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the fires.
