On the occasion of Indian Diaspora Day, Prime Minister Modi and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu showered praises on NRIs. Modi tweeted that expatriate Indians from all over the world are making a name for themselves and excelling in all fields, also maintaining relations with the soil of birth. Modi said on Twitter that the country is very proud of their achievements. On this occasion, he congratulated the NRIs.
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu wished Indians all over the world. He asked to contribute to the development of the country in any part of the world. As before, suggested acting as brand ambassadors for the culture of the country. He was happy that India’s reputation was on the rise due to NRIs. While increasing their identity, Venkaiah tweeted that NRIs that they are bringing recognition to the country.
The Central Government has been organizing ‘Expatriate Indians’ Day’ every year since 2003 to recognize and honor the contribution of NRIs to the development of India. We celebrate this celebration on January 9, 1915, when Mahatma Gandhi returned to Mumbai from South Africa. On this occasion, the President of India will present the ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Samman’ awards to the expatriate Indians who have worked in various fields.
This year we are celebrating the 17th Diaspora Indian Day. On the occasion, Prime Minister Modi and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commemorated and commended the services of NRIs. He said the role of expatriate Indians in the development of the country was very much there.
