Finally, the most-awaited moment has arrived for the Indians, as the high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi finalised the dates for vaccination drive in the country.
According to the official information from the health ministry, India will commence the corona vaccination drive from January 16th, soon after the festival season.
Quoted to be the biggest vaccination drive in the world, the Modi-led government has resolved to take up the drive, in a phased manner starting with frontline workers from various sectors.
Reportedly, over 3 crore individuals will be vaccinated in Phase 1 of the coronavirus vaccination program. Followed by which, around 27 crore people consisting of those above 50 years of age and then those under 50 with co-morbidities will be vaccinated.
Technology is going to play a crucial role in the vaccination drive while Co-WIN Vaccine Delivery Management System, the unique digital platform will provide real-time information about vaccine stock, storage and distribution.
It can be noted that more than 79 lakh beneficiaries have been already registered with the platform to get vaccinated.
