In a treat to honor the Indian athletes who participated in Tokyo Olympics 2020, PM Modi on Sunday had an interaction with the athletes on August 15 at the Red Fort. What caught the media’s attention is the interaction between the PM and badminton star PV Sindhu who shared a fun-filled moment.
PM Modi on Sunday fulfilled the promise that he will have ice cream with the badminton star once she returns from Tokyo. An image of the PM having ice cream with Sindhu – who bagged a bronze medal at Tokyo as India produced its best-ever show at an Olympic event.
It can be recollected that in July PM had a video interaction with PV Sindhu where he had spoken about how Sindhu was barred from having ice cream before the Rio Olympics. “Work hard and I am confident that you will be successful once again. And when you all come back from the Olympics, I will have ice cream with you,” Modi had said.
It can be noted that on Saturday, the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind hosted a ‘High Tea’ for the Indian Contingent of the Tokyo Olympics 2020 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre. The Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu also graced the occasion.
