India’s Omicron cases rose to 961 across the country, while 13,154 new cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) were reported in the past 24 hours, taking the country’s tally to over 34.8 million.
Maximum cases were reported in Delhi (263) and Maharashtra (252), meanwhile, several states saw an exponential rise in daily Covid-19 cases on Wednesday. Amid the surge, the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) expressed concerns over the Omicron and Delta variants of Covid-19 in the country.
Maharashtra: Section 144 imposed in Mumbai starting from today till January 7, 2022, in view of rising Covid cases. New Year’s celebrations, parties in any closed or open space including restaurants, hotels, bars, pubs, resorts and clubs have been prohibited from December 30 till January 7.
