The Amaravati farmer agitation demanding the YSRC government to withdraw its three capital plan completed one year today on Thursday. Thousands of farmer who continued to agitate against the state government began after the state government in December last year.
Coinciding with the occasion, Amaravati Joint Action Committee (JAC) has announced to organise ‘Jana Ranabheri’, a public meeting at Rayapudi on Thursday. Further, JAC convenors A Siva Reddy and G Tirupati Rao stated that they are planning to organise a ‘Delhi-like’ six-day long agitation at Uddandarayunipalem village, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone.
The convenors also hinted on massive rallies and national highway blocking on the lines of ongoing farmers’ agitation in Delhi while the action plan is said to be finalised on December 17th. Several opposition parties, including Telugu Desam Party, the Congress, Jana Sena, CPI and CPI (M) have extended their support to the week-long agitation of the Amaravati farmers.
JanaSena Chief Pawan Kalyan is also likely to join the massive public meeting in support for the farmers. Meanwhile, the state high court has been continuously hearing over 90 petitions filed against the three capital bills.
