Not only did the state recently set records straight achieving a landmark as its number of tests conducted per million population crossed the 1 lakh-mark, but Andhra Pradesh which has been the second worst-hit state in India reported new record on Saturday.
While the state has been recording not more than 8,000 cases from the past few days, Andhra Pradesh on Saturday set a new record. The state health department heaved a sigh of relief with the state recording 9,125 recoveries in the last 24 hours.
According to the recent health bulletin released, the authorities have conducted corona diagnosis tests on 75,990 people across the state while 7,125 turned out positive on Saturday. With which the state tally reached to 6,68,751 while 5,97,294 recovered/cured/discharged so far.
However, the increasing cases in East and West Godavari districts turned as a challenge for the set heath authorities. The fatalities, as well, continued to raise taking the cumulative toll to 5,663 with 57 additional fatalities in the last 24 hours.
