Chasing Mexico, the second worst-hit nation in the world, India in the last 24 hours logged over 61,000 cases taking the total caseload to 31,06,349.
According to the official data furnished by the Union Health Ministry, India has recorded 60,975 new coronavirus cases while Maharashtra (693,398), Tamil Nadu (385,352), Andhra Pradesh (361,712) continued to top the list of most affected states.
Officials confirm that the Indian states and union territories have registered 58,390 deaths with 848 new fatalities from Monday to Tuesday morning.
Reported active COVID-19 cases in India now stand at 7,04,348. As many as 24,04,585 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged so far, confirmed the latest health bulletin.
Meanwhile, corona continued to take a toll at Telugu states as well. Telangana reported 1,842 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the state’s tally to 1,06,091 while the death toll rose to 761 with six more fatalities.
On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh reported 8,601 new infections, pushing the state’s tally to 361,712, which includes 89,516 active cases.
