Taking its total to 28,36,925, deadly virus corona set off the danger bells across the states with over 70,000 new positive cases on Thursday. According to the official data from the Union Health Ministry, 70,101 new cases are registered while the country crossed the 2.8 million-mark.
Tensions ran high as India has left the US and Brazil behind in seven-day average of daily new coronavirus cases. Maharashtra (628,642), Tamil Nadu (349,654), Andhra Pradesh (300,000), Karnataka (249,000), and Uttar Pradesh (162,434) topped India’s corona chart of the worst-hit states.
As per the official data, as many as 20,96,665 COVID-19 patients have been cured/discharged/migrated so far while the reported active COVID-19 cases in India stand at 6,86,395 with a recovery rate of 73.8%. On the other hand, the country’s cumulative toll reached to 53,929 with 978 fresh deaths in the last 24 hours.
The total number of samples tested up to 19th August is 3,26,61,252, including 9,18,470 samples tested yesterday, stated ICMR.
Andhra Pradesh’s COVID-19 tally touched 3.16 lakh on Wednesday as 9,742 more cases were added in the last 24 hours. The coronavirus toll mounted to 2,906 as 86 fresh casualties were reported. While Telangana has 95,700 confirmed cases, the tally in Andhra Pradesh stands at 3,16,000. The toll in Andhra Pradesh in 2820 while 719 people have succumbed to the infection.
