News has it that the atrocities of police in the name of traffic rules are crossing all the limits. Motorists allege that they are being troubled by the cops holding tabs to take pictures and imposing fines wherever they go on the roads, near signals. Recently, a child lost his life due to the zeal of the Yadadri police. People of Telangana are bashing the behavior of traffic police on Social media platforms. They are urging the IT Minister KTR to keep a tab on the attitude of the police in this context.
Netizens say the way traffic police are pursuing the quest to reach the target is controversial. It has become nothing short of issuing challans for motorists and emptying their pockets on a daily basis. A couple from Marigadi village in the Janagama district says the negligence shown by the Yadadri police while taking their three-month-old baby to Hyderabad in a rental car for treatment is unforgivable.
“We will check the pending challans along with the one we issued just now for not wearing the seat belt. And we will let you go only if you pay the entire penalties pending,” said the police officers who stopped the rental car. This attitude of the cops is severely criticized by the people on social media.
Taking a jibe on KTR, they are demanding him to respond on the issue just the way he responds to many other little problems. Others have suggested that the government’s pressure on the police to do so could be a factor behind their brutal behavior.
Parents are voicing that their child has died due to these police officers. The parents begged the police to let them go to the hospital as their child is said to be in a life-threatening condition. The parents shed tears blaming the cops for not letting them go even after requesting them for more than thirty minutes. They cite that taking their child late to the hospital has caused the death. The couple was heading to the Nilofer hospital where they were told by the doctors that they would have saved the child even if he was brought to the hospital at least 10 minutes early. However, the police have a different version. They say that they were never informed about the condition of the child in the entirety of the discussion on road.
