Deputed to the Centre and repatriated to the AP cadre on the request of the State, Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary Neela Sawhney was made the first woman CS of the State after the controversial transfer of LV Subramanyam.
The IAS officer who was supposed to retire on June 30, was granted a six-month extension by the Centre in two stages upon the request of CM Jagan.
However, with the extension coming to an end, it was learnt the state government didn’t raise any requests regarding the same rather started the hunt for new CS. Neerabh Kumar Prasad who has been serving the CMO as CCLA commissioner was on the front run going by the unwritten rule.
However, in an unexpected overnight politics, the senior IAS officer was transferred with orders instructing him to report in the general administration department. Further, the Chief Minister has promoted IAS officer Adityanath Das as the CCLA hinting over the new CS.
It can be noted that Adityanath is one of the officers who were served notices in connection with an Enforcement Directorate case involving CM Jagan. The IAS officer also held various crucial departments like irrigation during the tenure of YS Rajasekhar Reddy.
This decision is now welcoming sharp criticism in the wake of officials from Reddy Community and having a strong affiliation with CM occupying major posts. It can be noted that officer Jawahar Reddy was appointed as TTD EO recently.
