Followed by the assurance from Home Minister Amit Shah that CAA has nothing to do with NRC, IMIM chief and Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi Asaduddin Owaisi gave a fitting reply to the BJP biggy on Tuesday. Addressing the public at the protest meeting against CAA, NPR and #NRC at Mahbub Nagar, the Muslim leader threw an open challenge to the Home Minister Amit Shah that he is ready for any sort of debate with the later in any news channel. “I only have one condition. The anchor should not be a BJP-inclined one. Is Amit Shah ready to accept the challenge?” he said amidst the crowd cheering him up.
A series of statements from Amit Shah and Owaisi against each other from a couple of days took an interesting turn with the latter producing several documents released by the previous governments. Addressing the media, Owaisi put forth the Press Information Bureau (PIB) release In November 2014 and a report from official Census India website which supported his statement that National Population Register (NPR) was directly linked to National Registry of Citizens (NRC). “Amit Shah sahab, as long as the sun keeps rising from the east, we will keep telling the truth. NPR is the first step towards NRC. Accept the truth that you are misleading the country,” he said addressing that Home Minister.

The sun will always rise from the east, but can we say the same about your feelings towards NRC?

On this note, Owaisi lauded Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy for his decision to oppose NRC. Meanwhile, a delegation of United Muslim Action Committee (UMAC), along with Owaisi, met with Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday regarding NPR works in the State and to gain support for his protests against the central government.
