Pakistani President Arif Alvi made a sensational decision. He announced on Sunday that the National Assembly (Parliament) would be dissolved. He took this unexpected decision just minutes after Prime Minister Imran Khan wrote the letter.
He said elections would be held in 90 days in the wake of the dissolution of Parliament. Until then, Imran Khan will continue as prime minister but will dissolve parliament.
Dramatic developments are taking place in the wake of the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan. Imran Khan’s government has said it is removing Punjab’s governor Sarvar from the position.
Opposition parties have stated they are not okay with the behavior of the deputy speaker. They expressed their intolerance in public and asked for the necessary action to be taken. Shortly afterward, the deputy speaker announced that he was rejecting the resolution. The resolution was rejected on the grounds that it was against Article 5 of the Constitution. Moments later, Imran wrote a letter to the President. The letter called for the dissolution of Parliament.
