In yet another deliberate and provocative move by Pakistan’s representative led to a sort face-off with India at the meeting of National Security Advisors of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) on Tuesday.
Ito details, it all started with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan unveiling the new political map of Pakistan on the eve of the first anniversary of the withdrawal of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status under Article 370. Raising new tensions, the map showed Jammu and Kashmir as Pakistani territory snubbing the advisory by host Russia.
Claiming to be a deliberate move, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said NSA Ajit Doval walked out of the virtual meeting soon after Pakistan’s representative Dr Moeed Yusuf projected in the background.
“Showcasing of the map was in “blatant disregard to the advisory by the host (Russia) against it and in violation of the norms of the meeting,” stated spokesperson Anurag Srivastava upon Russian NSA, Doval left the meeting in protest at that juncture.
However, the meeting carried on with the “new map” of Pakistan which was a constant feature behind its NSA at the videoconference. The map depicts J&K as part of Pakistani territory, as well as the areas of Sir Creek and Junagadh.
Hours after which social media flooded with posts welcoming Ajit Davol’s move quoting him as Indian James Bond.
Strong symbolic action from our #NSA #AjitDoval to leave the #SCO meeting after coward and rubbish action by Pakistan. Nothing is above Dignity and
Sovernity of India .👏
Russia have taught them a lesson verbally not to commit this again. #AjitDoval #AjitDoval #AjitDoval pic.twitter.com/RKouehhQYp— Prince Tiwari ~11🇮🇳 (@PrinceTiwari_18) September 16, 2020
