Raising concerns over the effectiveness of the corona vaccines, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has tested positive for coronavirus two days after taking the first jab of the COVID vaccine. Confirming the news, the country’s health minister Faisal Sultan on Saturday tweeted that the former cricketer is under self-isolating at home.

It can be noted that Imran Khan on Thursday took the first dose of the Chinese coronavirus vaccine Sinopharm which is currently made available only to Pakistan and becomes effective after two successful doses.
Tension ran high amongst the Pakistan officials as the 68-year-old Prime Minister has been holding regular and frequent meetings lately. Earlier, Imran Khan was spotted addressing the security conference held in the capital Islamabad without wearing a mask, which was attended by a large number of people.
COVID-19 cases have been rising in Pakistan. The total cases have passed 6.15 lakh and the death count has crossed over 13,700. All markets, shopping malls, offices, and restaurants will remain closed in the areas of smart lockdown imposed from Thursday.
