With more than 81 per cent of the electorate exercising their franchise, the first phase of panchayat elections in Andhra witness as a rare feat. Though the elections to panchayats are fought on a non-political basis, the candidates supported by all the major political parties are in the election fray.
In what is speculated to be the best chance to ride that wave and emerge as a strong contender for forming government in the future, Pawan Kalyan’s JanaSena emerged out with a decent number of panchayat’s in the first phase of local polls.
