JanaSena Chief Pawan Kalyan who once ruled the Telugu Film Industry breathed fire on the Tollywood star heroes on Monday. Pawan who has been giving a tough time for the ruling party since the announcement of the change in medium from Telugu to English has now taken potshots on the star heroes in Telugu Film Industry. In what can be termed as a sharp criticism, Pawan took a jibe at the actors alleging that most of them couldn’t even read and write Telugu. “It is shameful and unfortunate that most of these so-called star heroes couldn’t even fluently speak in their mother tongue,” he added.
Speaking at a public event, the actor-turned-politician stated that the Telugu language is losing its sheen and Telugu film industry has been one of the reasons. He then lashed out on the writers and directors who themselves don’t have proficiency in the language and pertaining the language for abuses and lengthy unworthy dialogues in their films. “It gives me immense pain that most of the star heroes who earn crores of money from this industry can’t even read and write Telugu,” said Pawan who has been an ardent reader of Telugu literature himself.
