Hyderabad: A peeled off concrete slab from Ameerpet metro station of Hyderabad has taken the life of Monica(24) who was taking shelter from the downpour under the metro station. NVS Reddy, the MD of Hyderabad metro rail has stated that Monica suffered death with a severe head injury after a sharp edge of the slab piece fell on her from about 9 meters. “She was rushed to the nearby hospital immediately which unfortunately didn’t help,” he added. Though the metro authorities minced about the scanty maintenance of metro, sources say that it has agreed to pay compensation to the victim’s family.
