Phoenix’s illegal land grabbing is slipping out of hands with the Gachibowli ‘Pink’ Gand gradually expanding their kingdom taking a cue from legal loopholes. In a recent development, the gang has occupied over 2,127 sq. yards of land adjacent to the project.
In what can be called cinematic transformation, a man from a middle-class family rose as an owner of a thousand crores worth corporate company. He has given up everything for 6 years to protect his property, facing accusations in many illegal cases, and resorting to threats. Claiming that the papers from 1983 are fake, the company have created false survey report in support of their claims and managed to have the government officials including the commissioner in their hands.
Shantibhai bought 2,127 sq. yards of land in Survey Nos. 77,83 in Hafeez Peta in 1983. 7 guntas in one plot and 10 guntas in another plot were taken with the permission of the gram panchayat and tax was also paid with the hope that they would reap benefits with respect to the development in the city. However, the land with Survey Nos. 87,88 was illegally occupied for Phoenix’s development.
Permission was obtained from GHMC to differentiate their position in the expansion of their survey numbers. With which the developers broke into Shanthibhai’s land. The descendants from Nizamabad objected to this and filed cases with their influence while the police ignored the cases. Victim Kishore Velumala averred that the developers have deliberately occupied their road-facing land with road widening claims.
In 1981, the details regarding the survey numbers of lands through which pipeline and the road were laid are taken under RTI Act. However, now the details were changed managing the D.D and new survey. After the hearing in GHMC, the verdict was submitted to the High Court over which the victims filed another petition in the court but did not appear on the bench due to COVID. In the meantime, the building completed its construction while the High Court stay went in vain.
Meanwhile, Phoenix MD. Gopi Krishna summoned the victims for negotiations which reportedly ended up in abuses and life threats. Talking to ToliVelugu victims Kishore and Sushen Kumar stated that they have then received messages they would receive government compensation and that they have officials and influential leaders in their hands.
It can be noted that former Chairman Chukkapally Suresh is serving as the Honorary Council General for Telangana on behalf of the country and his son Avinash Chukkapally is the chairman along with a number of directors. The company has been facing serious allegations of occupying illegal lands in multiple places. ToliVelugu has been facing all odds to bring the atrocities into the limelight and stand with the victims.
