Following the Unlock 5.0 guidelines which are in force from Monday, schools and other educational institutes in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Sikkim re-opened after almost seven months. However, the state government permitted only the schools outside containment zones while parental permission in a letter form was made compulsory.
As per the guidelines issued, students of classes 9 to 12 were allowed for the classes held in shifts all necessary protocols including social distancing and proper sanitisation of premises. In the first shift, classes for 9 and 10 standards will be held and classes 11 and 12 standards will be held in the second shift.
50 per cent of the students should be called in every class on one day and the remaining 50 percent the next day. Students must wear masks and gloves. With this, they should also wear full sleeves shirts and pants.
However, the online class will continue along with offline, and no student will be forced to come to school. The state governments have reportedly come up with a new academic plan while the syllabus was reportedly reduced by one-fourth.
