The war of words between the BJP-led central government and KCR-led Telangana state government is getting stronger with the entry of union minister Piyush Goyal. In a blistering attack, Piyush Goyal on Tuesday lashed out on KCR alleging him of indulging in petty politics and appeasement of minorities under pressure from political parties. Hours after he questioned KCR of why his government still didn’t implement the 10 per cent reservation for EBCs in a conclave, the Railway minister alleged that TRS is acting under the shadow of AIMIM.
The BJP leader hit back the allegations made by the TRS leader over the injustice to Telangana in the recent Budget allocation. He re-iterated the Finance Minister Nirmala Seetharaman’s claims that Telangana drew more than Rs. 1,07,000 crores in the last five years from the Modi government which is comparatively high than that from the previous Congress-led government. Piyush then accused that the ruling TRS and Owaisi with trying to divide Telangana on the basis of religion by making a false promise of increasing reservation to Muslims from 4 to 12 per cent.
This war of words came close on the heels of KCR’s recent Delhi visit which reportedly went on a positive note. Going by KCR’s speech at an event in Delhi, the TRS supremo stated that he was looking forward to working hand-in-hand with the central government for the state’s good. However, seems like things are not the same after state government adopted an anti-CAA resolution in the Telangana assembly.
