The recent Rajya Sabha session where Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about Telangana state formation has stirred quite a controversy in the whole state. Responding to President’s speech, Modi made some sensational comments on the Congress party handling the state separation process. His words provoked immense outrage on all forms of media amongst the citizens of the state and the political fraternity, especially the TRS party.
Post the parliamentary session, tensions were high near the BJP state office in Nampally. NSUI president Balmuri Venkat has tried to forcefully enter the BJP office in protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks on state partition. He was accompanied by several student leaders.
Right at the moment, the students were trying to enter the BJP office, both the BJP leaders and police intercepted them. The police arrested them and handed them over to Begumbazar P.S. In the process of taking Venkat into custody, his shirt was torn.
Balmuri alleged that Modi was using the issue of state partition for political purposes. They demanded that the Prime Minister immediately withdraw his words. He warned that the BJP offices in the state would otherwise be raided. Venkat said his group will never let BJP leaders walk free on the roads. On behalf of the student union, he firmly demanded an apology from the BJP party members on Modi’s behalf.
