Waging a war against the widespread novel Coronavirus, as many as 20 states have announced a complete lockdown with the normal life has come to halt except for emergencies. While deserted look loomed all main cities in the country, many of the cities witnessed citizen coming out despite the curfew imposed.
All the local markets and grocery stores were seen buzzed up as the citizen resorted to panic buying with speculations that the prices of vegetables and groceries would hike in the coming days. Meanwhile, in the Telugu states, the police deployed special teams to restrict the people coming out. Hyderabad Traffic Police said that it had set up 73 check posts in the limits of all 25 Traffic Police Stations under its jurisdiction and seized a total of 2,480 vehicles.

In Andhra Pradesh, police resorted to deploying barricades on arterial roads in the city. Taking the cue of the lockdown, many of the private vehicles and auto drivers who tried to take passengers and charge more were seized by the police. Social media flooded with messages lashing out on the COVIDIOTS(COVID+IDIOTS) who are irresponsibly loitering in the streets. Videos of the police cranking whip on the youth who broke the protocol are taking rounds on social media.
