Be it a techie from a city or a farmer in a village with minimal security, no parent ever wants to think of their daughter in threat. Once they sense their child to be under threat, they put their life out to protect her, save her and to bring her out safely. And the police would be first help any of such parents would go for. But what if the police who ought to offer a helping hand turn down? What if they pass heinous comments in return?
This happed with the parents of Priyanka Reddy who was brutally murdered and was set ablaze in the wee hours. The case is taking interesting turns with Priyanka’s parents revealing their experiences with Hyderabad police while registering the missing complaint of their daughter. The department which claims them to be the most people-friendly police turned foes putting down the spirit of hope and assurance. Priyanka’s parents who approached the police in the late hours about their missing daughter got an awful reply from the police. “Your daughter might have eloped with her lover,” is what the police said to the parents who approached them for help. Speaking to the media, Priyanka’s father who was weeping his heart out said that the words of the police whom they approached were unbearable. He also expressed his anguish that their might have saved their child if the police responded in a timely manner.
