Hours after the states mourned the ghastly attack and murder of the on-duty Tehsildar Vijaya Reddy, the issue is taking significance in political circles. With the speculations that a few political biggies are involved in her murder, the incident has been receiving backlash from the people around the country. The association of revenue officials called for protests across the state on Tuesday and has announced that they would boycott duties for three days.
There has been strong debate locally that TRS MLA Manchireddy Kishan Reddy has his hand in the murder. The villagers alleged that the MLA Kishan Reddy is involved in the land litigation assuring them to resolve the issues and has collected Rs 30 lakhs. Local farmers claimed that about 412 acres of land have been in litigations from years and that they were not issued with the passbooks. The audio clipping with one of the farmers admitting that the MLA has taken about Rs 3 lakhs from Suresh regarding the latter land came to limelight. He also said that the local leaders have created fake documents and has complicated the issue. ‘Many political leaders have their lands in this 412 acres and Congress leader Mallareddy Ranga Reddy is one of them,” he added. Vijaya’s family members and the the opposition leader demanded a CBI enquiry over the case.
Vijaya, the first MRO of the newly formed Abdullapurmet, Rangareddy district was set ablaze at the MRO office on Monday. According to reports, she was alone in her office while a man who was later identified as K Suresh attacked her pouring Kerosene and set her on fire in the office premises itself. Vijaya died on the spot succumbing to the injuries.
